It will jump several times, but then it will have a big last jump. When it has a big jump hit it with your shovel before it cracks.
Then out comes a 2 headed serpent!
If you want 4 heads you do the same thing with romance 2 headed serpents at the start.

cheat: Go to Costalot's store and buy a torch then get a taffly and direct it on the fire.
It will catch on fire then take out your watering can and water the taffly.
It will transform into a Reddhot.
Reddhots are worth 2100 coins.
My other Transformation is when you have a Quackberry (the duck) and feed it a gooseberry. It will turn into a Juicygoose.
I've tried these and they work perfectly so have fun!

Once they're all fully grown they will be worth 1440 chocolate coins each!
They grow fairly quickly as well, giving you a huge profit.
This is an easy way I found that gives you the 100,000 chocolate coins achievement
